Brilliance: From Baby Boys to Bobble Head

This past week I had fun with all my boys, grandsons Benjamin and Micah, and husband, Scott.

Last Thursday I took care of Benjamin for a half day while his mom and dad ran errands and got massages. While they were being pampered, I took Ben to the new park which is just around the corner from their house. Ben and I walked the three blocks. I should say I attempted to steer Ben away from the street, everyones' yards, and the barking dogs who were calling his name. "Ben, come play with us!"

We made it. Ben loved the slide and the swing with Nana pushing him. The challenge for me was Ben deciding he'd crawl under the kiddie equipment. The crawl space was just right for him, but would have been very interesting for me, if he'd decided to stay under. Fortunately, he came out the other side. Then it was time to go home. To make the departure somewhat easier, I carried him for a couple blocks. May have made it easier for him, but certainly gave me a workout!

I did get some grief from Courtney and Ron when they came home about his outfit. Since I had to find Ben's coat, hat, and mittens, whatever I found was what he wore. The result: his dad's hat and mom's purple gloves which he put to very good use. "Let's keep these sidewalks clean, folks!"

I took care of Micah yesterday. Although not feeling his best, Micah managed to get right to work playing with the toys. He's mastering the Cat maneuvering - not our cat, Calvin, but his heavy-duty equipment toy. I was certainly surprised when I asked him as he dismounted if he was getting off and he replied, "Off." These boys are brilliant I tell you, just brilliant!

And then there's Scott. On the way home from Seattle today, Scott asked me if he'd told me he loved me. I nodded in the affirmative because the van is noisy and without his hearing aids he wouldn't have heard my reply anyway. He saw my head nod and then asked if I'd told him I loved him today. I nodded in the affirmative again. "I know what I'm going to do," he cheerfully informed me. "I'm going to make a bobble head of you. Every time I want to buy something, I'll just jiggle the bobble head and you'll say yes!"

Another flash of brilliance.
