September 17th was grandson Ben's first birthday. How did the year melt away so quickly? Was it because of so much rain - or just that little ones grow up much too fast. Here is a collage of Ben's first year. It was a privilege for me to be able to capture these special moments with him.
Ben was in fine form at his party, in spite of a cloudy day, tents, barbequing, what seemed like hundreds of balloons, throngs of kids, all three grandmas, and 40+ guests during the day.
Thanks to my friend, Shelly Luthi, I wasn't behind the camera the whole time. Not only did she photograph most of the party, she made the beautiful Mickey Mouse (Ben's favorite character) cake and cupcakes. What a woman! Lots of folks refer to her as "Martha Stewart."
I took over the camera work for opening presents at the end of the day. Couldn't help but photograph the kids in action. What fun! For lots more pictures of Ben's party, go to BonnieKingPhotography.com
