Thursday was Scott's 67th birthday. We were invited to go to the Point Defiance Zoo with Ron, Courtney and Ben. Kendall and Micah were able to make it, but Summer, Addison and Margo couldn't. Kendall was a bit late because of getting stuck in road construction, so Ben entertained Scott by reading to him all about the zoo.
I took photos of the boys, now 11 and 8 months old and Scott kept his camera busy taking photos of the wildlife. He also made time to mention to a young woman in the cafe that she had holes in her jeans. She acknowledged the fact and informed Scott, it helped with air conditioning. Only my husband would think to discuss holy jeans with a stranger. On the other hand, she was probably attractive and since she played right along with the conversation, she became even more alluring. It's really okay. After 17 years of marriage, I'm glad he still has a wonderful sense of humor and appreciates women. I get the benefit of his appreciation every day.
While there, the needs of the boys still had to be met. I was very impressed with Ron and Courtney's teamwork in changing Ben's diaper - mid air!
Micah-man was more serious about the whole zoo thing until he started his drum routine on the table top. Since everyone at the table showed their appreciation, there were smiles all around.
While Kendall's arms can only handle so much, Micah loved the air tosses his mom gave him. Great exercise, Kendall! Bet you don't do that in Stroller Strides classes.
It was a wonderful day. The grandsons and their parents wore out before we did. We hadn't been to the zoo in probably 20 years, but it's amazing and I know we'll go again. By the way, Micah's bib does say "Grandma's Little Guy". BonnieKingPhotography.com
